Hike & spend the night at the Hexenseehütte in Tyrol

The untamed high mountain region of the Alps

In the summer, in addition to the Kölner Haus, we also run the Hexenseehütte lodge, which stands 2,588 metres above sea level, in the heart of the Masner region - an Alpine Club lodge at a key point on long-distance hiking trail 712. The lodge is an important base between the Kölner Haus in Serfaus and the Heidelberger Hütte in Paznaun.

From the terrace, the panorama stretches from the steep cliffs to the endless peaks in the distance. And in the middle of it all is the lodge's local mountain, the Hexenkopf, standing 3,034 metres tall.

Spend the night at the Hexenseehütte

The Hexenseehütte offers 18 sleeping places, divided into two dormitories. Prices for overnight stays comply with the Alpine Club’s pricing regulations.

In the summer, guests can book breakfast and dinner, although self-catering is also possible. In the winter, the lodge is managed by the cable car company. The Hexenseehütte is classified as a category I Alpine Club lodge and is subject to the Hüttenordnung lodge regulations.

PLEASE NOTE: In the winter, the lodge is operated by Seilbahn Komperdell GmbH.

An ideal stopover on the long-distance hiking trail or for alpine day trips and climbing in the climbing park at the Furglersee lake.

You can only reach the Hexenseehütte on foot or by mountain bike. The lodge is located directly on long-distance hiking trail 712, which connects the Kölner Haus with the Heidelberger Hütte via Alp Trida. Another connection leads over the Masnerjoch to the Ascher Hütte.

A piece of lodge history in Serfaus

After a fire in 1994, the original mountain lodge from 1974 was rebuilt and has shone in new splendour since 1996. Be it as a starting point for challenging crossings to Samnaun and neighbouring Paznaun or for alpine impressions on the terrace - the Hexenseehütte offers the complete high mountain ambience. Here, every tour feels like a journey into the unspoilt nature of the Tyrolean Alps.

Voluntary lodge service

Fancy spending a summer as a lodge attendant?

Do you want to experience the authentic alpine feeling? Come and work as a lodge attendant at the Hexenseehütte! At 2,600 metres above sea level, you’ll provide the hikers with breakfast and evening meals, ensure cleanliness and make new friends. Two helpers get free board and lodging (except for alcoholic drinks) and we'll tell you how it is: it's not always easy, but it's always really good. So what do you get in return? Nature rewards you with a panoramic view that leaves no room for worries - and you greet and say goodbye to satisfied hikers whose stories will stay with you for a long time to come. Sound good? Then get in touch with us if you are a member of the Rhineland-Cologne section.
